Italian Senator Borghi Insists To Throw the Green Deal in the Garbage

Italy’s Claudio Borghi, a lame-duck Lega senator and member of the Euroskeptic group in the Lega, gave a long interview to the daily La Verità in which he said the Lega will campaign on demands which were unfulfilled or rejected by outgoing Prime Minister Mario Draghi, including a review of investment and energy programs.

“The Green Deal should be thrown in the garbage,” Borghi said. “Is it reasonable to destroy the automotive industry, starting with the Italian one, just to favor the Chinese [supposedly because they produce batteries for e-cars—ed.]? On energy, do we want to keep telling lies? I think that a worldwide rethinking on energy strategies is necessary—including nuclear energy. Where are we ending up, without” nuclear power?
