Some of the potential countermeasures, which have been expressed through semi-official channels and are reported in Global Times, might include a PLA air force “escort” of Pelosi’s plane as she arrives in Taipei, a broader flyover patrol of Taiwan by the PLA (potentially declaring the entire island a “drill zone” and threatening to intercept any aircraft), or a missile test near the island.
