South Korea has put forward an energy policy that will have nuclear’s share of the national energy mix at 30% by 2030 and calls for the construction of the third and fourth units of the Shin Hanul nuclear power plant.
President Yoon Suk-yeol, who took office in May, has vowed to reverse former President Moon Jae-in’s policy of phasing out nuclear power.
A new policy was announced today during a cabinet meeting.
