Syria’s second city of Aleppo is coming back to life, despite ongoing Western sanctions still imposed on Syria that are intended to prevent the reconstruction of the country until it capitulates to U.S.-led political diktats. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited Aleppo for the first time since its liberation from U.S.-backed jihadi terrorists in 2016 to see for himself how the city normal life is being restored in the city despite the obstacles.

On his first stop, Assad visited the Aleppo Thermal Power Station where the first of five power generators was put back online providing 200 MW of electricity to the city. He said the devastation and destruction of this facility during the war was perpetrated by terrorists which he described as “Western forces led by the United States,” reported the official news agency SANA. “These terrorists who called themselves revolutionaries spread darkness in the country, while you, the workers, are generating light throughout Syria,” Assad said.
