China’s Global Times warned yesterday that the FBI raid on Trump’s residence could “misguide U.S. midterm elections into partisan conflict rather than solving urgent economic problems.” The article by Yang Sheng believes that “Trump is facing serious legal jeopardy,” and that “it is likely to strangle the possibility that Trump can run for election again. Democrats might take a sigh of relief as they might have a chance to eliminate their biggest threat in domestic politics once and for all.

Over the weekend, numerous rallies against the FBI and in support of Donald Trump took place around the country, ranging from dozens to hundreds of attendees. At minimum, rallies took place in Long Island, NY; Bedminster, NJ; St. Louis, MO; Phoenix, AZ (where a number of protesters carried guns); Fairfax, VA; and outside Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago, FL.
