In a report to the Executive and to Parliament, the Italian Energy Authority (Arera) warned of unsustainable price increases for households and for producers in Q4, calling for government action in order to avoid a “dramatic scenario.”
“Given the current trend in gross market prices, a further increase of household bills, of more than 100% vs. the current quarter, is expected for the October-December 2022 quarter, if the level of prices of the last days is maintained,” the report says, adding that even with the planned government aids, “an unprecedented increase of costs cannot be avoided.”
