Schroeder: Crimea Is Russian, Has Always Been

In an interview with Germany’s Stern weekly, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder pointed out on the Crimean issue: “To think that Ukrainian President Zelensky will take over Crimea again by military means is absurd. With the exception of the Tatar minority, this region is Russian. The former Soviet state and party leader, Nikita Khrushchev, handed it over to Ukraine, which at that time was part of the Soviet Union.”
