As an exception from most of the European mainstream media, Austria’s Kronen Zeitung carries an editorial today against EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who it says is “increasingly becoming a mouthpiece for the U.S.A. It is not about the welfare of the EU, no, it is currently a war in Europe, which is ‘controlled’ from America.”
“The economy of the entire EU is extremely affected by the war in Ukraine. Europe’s most important economy, Germany, is experiencing a slump that is weakening Europe. Whether Ukraine is ‘worth’ this economic collapse of Europe, I dare to doubt. Would a neutral Ukraine, like Austria, really not have been an option? Every speech, every gesture including clothing of Ursula von der Leyen revolves around Ukraine. What happens to the ‘rest of Europe’ economically is only secondary,” the editorial comments.
