China: SCO Has Come of Age, Key for the "New Strategic Arrangements" for Food and Energy

The semi-official China Daily issued its editorial today on the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the world. It calls for the SCO to play “a more active role not only in upholding regional security and stability, but also in promoting development and prosperity…. The fast expanding influence of the SCO attests to the fact that the organization is viewed by the countries of the Silk Road Economic Belt as a vital safeguard for international norms and multilateralism.”
