Delivery of ATACMS Missiles to Ukraine Would Mean a Direct Conflict Between U.S. and Russia

Speaking to RIA Novosti, Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov warned today that Washington’s delivery to Ukraine of ATACMS missiles which have a range of 300 km, would mean that the conflict was directly between the U.S. and Russia. Antonov pointed out that the receipt by Ukraine of such weapons from the United States would put large Russian cities, as well as transport and industrial infrastructure facilities, in the area of possible destruction. “Such a scenario would mean direct involvement of the United States in a military confrontation with Russia,” the Russian ambassador said.
