Hundreds of “radical Nazi” and “right-wing extremists,” plying their trade online, are actually being run by the German government and its Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV). A German domestic intelligence agent told Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) that she joined the effort to “do something against right-wing extremists,” but, as she explained, “In order to be really credible, it is not enough to share or like what others say, you also have to make statements yourself. That means that the agents also bully and agitate.” Their job is to “feed” the scene.
The SZ cites the new 10-point plan of Interior Minister Nancy Faeser to “fight right-wing extremism,” but as the BfV explained it, this includes the opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. So, not only is it fair game to listen in on their phone calls and to read their emails, but their “playing a little right-wing radical” game themselves, includes the creation and dissemination of vile “propaganda” to gain the trust of others and sometimes “incitement to hatred.”
