Scott Ritter’s extensive review, published today in RT— in covering the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear plant, the outrageous attempt by Kiev to militarily conquer the plant while the IAEA was arriving, and the duplicity of the West in suppressing the obvious reality of Kiev’s “nuclear chicken” game—certainly would earn him a place on Kiev’s blacklist as an “information terrorist,” if he weren’t already there. The article came out one day after his presentation at an EIR press conference on Kiev’s terror campaign, threatening harassment and physical harm, to chill independent thought and free speech. The RT article should be read (link below), but here two new elements are reported.
First, as a former UN weapons inspector, Ritter takes special exception to the Kiev regime deliberately planning a military raid against the nuclear plant, using the visit of a UN inspection mission for cover. He writes that the Kiev authorities told the IAEA team, on their way to the plant, that there was military activity in the area of the plant that morning— which was true, as Ukrainian special forces launched a disastrous raid from across the Dniepr. The team was delayed in its arrival, and they ended up sending half their team away from the plant that day, on account of the heightened danger. Ritter: “Needless to say, using an international inspection team as cover for a military operation is a violation of everything the United Nations Charter stands for.”
Second, Moscow had insisted that the IAEA team include ballistics experts who could evaluate the artillery fire — what was fired and from what area. He writes that the experts were indeed on the mission. So, they now know for sure, amongst their team, that Ukraine was doing the firing; and the ridiculous claim that the Russians were firing upon their own soldiers who were guarding the plant was just that, ridiculous. However, under the category of “not assigning blame,” the IAEA mission refrained from stating what is causing the damage. As Ritter put it: “Worse still for Ukraine and its partners, the team has now been exposed to the duplicity of the Ukrainian government and, by extension, its Western backers in the United Nations, as well as to the reality that Russia had been telling the truth the entire time about the safety and security of the plant. There is no doubt that the ballistic experts accompanying Grossi’s team were able to gather more than enough forensic data to prove conclusively who was responsible for the ongoing attacks on Zaporozhye.”
Ritter concludes that Kiev is less to blame than the UK, US, and France. It is their refusal to face the facts of the shelling of the plant that will keep Kiev’s continued shelling in place — unless their artillery were to be pushed back. So, Kiev’s blackmail-by-artillery-fire-and-drones persists, and the world gambles with “Ukrainian roulette.”
