Labor Unions Now Joining Protest Rallies in Germany

In view of price increases and energy crises, a social mostly leftist alliance has called for rallies throughout Germany this on Saturday, Oct. 22. Several thousand turned in major cities, including Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hanover, Dresden, and Berlin, among many others. Under the slogan “In Solidarity through the Crisis. Real Redistribution Now!” demonstrators sought for more cohesion, social justice, and (stupidly) an end to fossil fuel dependency. The German Trade Union Confederation (DGT), the welfare association Parity Welfare and other environmentalist and social associations supported the call for protest actions.
