The phone lines continued to burn yesterday, following a round of calls on Oct. 23 by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu warning Global NATO of the Kiev regime’s dirty-bomb plot. In Moscow, Chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. Valery Gerasimov called Adm. Tony Radakin, the UK Chief of the Defense Staff and Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley. According to the Russian readout, Gerasimov and Radakin “carried on discussing the situation concerning Ukraine’s possible use of a ‘dirty bomb'.” According to the UK readout, Radakin “rejected Russia’s allegations that Ukraine is planning actions to escalate the conflict, and he restated the UK’s enduring support for Ukraine.” But, “the military leaders both agreed on the importance of maintaining open channels of communication between the UK and Russia to manage the risk of miscalculation and to facilitate de-escalation.”
The Russian readout of the conversation with Milley reports that they also “carried on discussing the situation concerning Ukraine’s possible use of a ‘dirty bomb'.” The US readout reports that they “discussed several security-related issues of concern and agreed to keep the lines of communication open. In accordance with past practice, the specific details of their conversation will be kept private.”
Then, Milley and Radakin spoke by phone. “The military leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the security environment in Eastern Europe, and other items of mutual strategic interest.” the US readout reports. “The United Kingdom and the United States share a long history of mutual support and cooperation, which are cornerstones of the strong Alliance and special relationship.”
Milley then called his counterpart in Kiev, Gen. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who has circulated an image of himself wearing a Nazi bracelet. “They discussed the unprovoked and ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and exchanged perspectives and assessments,” the US readout reported. “The Chairman reaffirmed unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
