Avian Flu Still Spreading in U.S., More Chickens To Be Slaughtered

Avian flu continues to spread in the United States, counter to “most past bird flu outbreaks [which] largely died off during the summer,” according to APnews. In the U.S. state of Nebraska, officials are saying another 1.8 million chickens will have to be killed, after the disease was discovered on a farm about 120 miles north of Omaha, the state Capitol.
