Democrat Kucinich Denounces Biden, Democratic War Drive

Senior Ohio Democrat, former Mayor and Congressman Dennis Kucinich took to the talk shows last week, to warn of the war path the United States is on under the Democrats. “Is Kucinich the Last Democrat for Peace?” was the title journalist Robert Scheer put on his Oct. 28 “Scheer Intelligence” podcast Oct. 28 with Kucinich. (Kucinich is from the Cleveland area of northern Ohio, which has a high population of citizens of Ukrainian origin.) The Grayzone similarly titled its interview with Kucinich the following day, asking “Where Are the Pro-Peace Democrats?” and quoting Kucinich: “If we don’t believe in diplomacy, then where do we go as a country?”

In the Scheer interview, Scheer and Kucinich shared their shock at the Progressive Caucus letter retraction debacle. That letter “mentioned diplomacy about a half dozen times. And what’s wrong with that?” Kucinich asked. “What’s wrong with trying to end a war where the U.S. has already spent upwards of $60 billion, where Ukraine is being wrecked, at least 15,000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and Russian soldiers killed. This thing has all the signs of spiraling out of control and so it was appropriate for members to send that letter to the White House and to see the leadership’s response was not just disappointing but alarming.”

Kucinich, who in 2007 had filed a resolution for the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney despite the Democratic leadership’s heavy-handed opposition, suggested that “it’s time for those of us who care enough to start to reshape [the Democratic Party],” which has become the warmonger party, under the Biden administration.
