The EU fund situation does look more precarious for Hungary, following a statement by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen yesterday that Brussels isn’t satisfied with the measures Hungary has so far introduced to “fight corruption and safeguard European taxpayers’ money.”
What actually enrages the EU is not “corruption” as such, but rather that the EU and NGOs cannot operate as freely in Hungary as elsewhere.
