‘First Lady’ Zelenska Vows, Ukrainians Ready To Freeze, Starve in Order To Join EU

TASS reported on a Nov. 25 BBC interview of Olena Zelenska, wife of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which she proclaimed “a recent poll where 90% of Ukrainians said they were ready to live with electricity shortages for two to three years if they could see the prospect of joining the European Union.”

On June 23, the EU heads of state and government summit in Brussels approved granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for accession to the EU, but Ukraine must still fulfill a number of conditions in order to even begin negotiations to join.
