The Dow Jones, as quoted by Russia Insider, reports that German exports of goods to Russia more than halved as a result of the war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), exports to Russia fell by 52.9% year-on-year in September to €1.1 billion.

By contrast, exports to the United States, the most important destination for German exports, increased by 43.4% to €15.4 billion. The most important exports to the U.S. were motor vehicles and parts worth €3.5 billion and pharmaceuticals worth €2.7 billion.
