According to reports from NBC News (November 11) and the Washington Post (November 23), multiple staff members of the January 6 committee are furious that only Trump-related material will be allowed to appear in the final report.
According to NBC, four investigative teams were formed to look into January 6: a “gold” team focused on Trump personally, a green team focused on fundraising, a blue team looking into law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and a purple team looking into such groups as the Proud Boys.
In particular, the blue team’s findings were significant, but Liz Cheney does not intend to allow them to be published.
The Washington Post reports that “15 former and current staffers ... expressed concern that important findings unrelated to Trump will not become available to the American public.”
The response from Cheney? Through a spokesperson, she said, “Some staff have submitted subpar material for the report that reflect long-held liberal biases about federal law enforcement, Republicans, and sociological issues outside the scope of the Select Committee’s work.”
“She won’t sign onto any ‘narrative’ that suggests Republicans are inherently racist or smears men and women in law enforcement,” the response continued (emphasis added).
Apparently pointing out that the FBI “failed to act on a torrent of information on social media threatening violence in the weeks leading up to the Capitol riot” (NBC) would be “smearing” law enforcement, in the view of beast-man Dick Cheney’s daughter. “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain,” she exclaims.
A full understanding of the FBI’s role is necessary.
