Social Democratic Party co-leader Lars Klingbeil took up the defense of Bundestag faction leader Rolf Mützenich on the issue of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) terror list at a SPD parliamentary group meeting on Nov. 7, according to DPA-AFX. Klingbeil said: “To make it quite clear an SPD parliamentary group leader, the largest government coalition faction, does not belong on such a list. And he has the full solidarity of the SPD; we are all on your side here.” Furthermore, he said that both he and Mützenich were “in complete agreement that we stand in solidarity with Ukraine, but that we are of course looking for any point where we can launch diplomatic initiatives.”
Klingbeil has pushed the hawkish line against Russia in the leadership of the SPD. So, for him to have to come out in “defense” of Mützenich, who recently kicked up a storm over being on the hit list of the Ukrainian presidency’s National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation, indicates that things seem to have gone too far.
According to the wires, Mützenich went after the fact that such lists were being drawn up in Ukraine at all, asking how this fits into a future cooperation between the two nations in Europe. The question is “whether between two states that also want to find themselves in the European Union, against the backdrop of a framework of values, such lists are really very beneficial for joint relations and also joint cooperation.” Mützenich also pointed out that the list with the hashtag “infoterror” can still be found in archives.
The DPA article lists Mützenich along with “the right-wing nationalist French politician Marine Le Pen, the publicist Alice Schwarzer and others,” who have been attacked by the CCD for spreading “narratives” consistent with Russian propaganda. In the case of Mützenich, he was singled out by the CCD for advocating a ceasefire.
While these politicians have finally dared to speak up, they are still too afraid to acknowledge the leading role of Helga Zepp-LaRouche in organizing a successful international resistance against this terror, and the fact that she, along with some 30-odd friends and speakers from a dozen countries at Schiller Institute conferences for peace and development, is now #1 on those lists. Nor that it lists at least one head of state, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni, who likewise spoke out for peace.
It is also noteworthy that some media have begun to report that the U.S. government is financing the CCD, as the Schiller Institute and EIR documented right from the beginning. This had been taken up originally only by very few voices outside the Schiller Institute and EIR, among them Wolfgang Bittner, whose article about it was published in NachDenkSeiten website. Bittner was also the only German personality who referred up front to the fact that Helga Zepp-LaRouche was a key top target in all of this. Publications such as the Berlin-based, left liberal Der Freitag have exposed the complicity of media and politicians with the CCD. Well-known graphic artist Klaus Staeck (an old supporter of Willy Brandt’s Ostpolitik and his election campaigns) had reported on the U.S. hand behind the CCD in an article in Frankfurter Rundschau in August.
