World Food Program Charters First Ship for Russian Fertilizer Exports to Africa

The head of the World Food Program, David Beasley, announced that the WFP had chartered a first ship to transport Russian fertilizer to Africa: “The first of many vessels that will transport critical supplies of Russian fertilizer to nations across Africa,” Beasley wrote on Twitter on Saturday. “Protecting the Black Sea Grain Initiative is critical to stemming the tide of global hunger and famine in the months ahead,” he wrote.
