Chinese President Xi Jinping will be traveling to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a state visit to that kingdom and for a China-Arab summit on December 9. Xi will also be attending a China-Gulf Coordination Council Summit. The Saudi Press Agency has said that more than 30 heads of state would be attending. While the visit has not been officially announced by China, probably given the extreme consternation potential from the U.S. side, CNN is reporting that the Saudis are already issuing press credentialing for the occasion. The Chinese media have also indicated that there will be an upcoming China-Arab summit, without giving any particulars.
