Taiwan Extends Military Service from Four Months to One Year, Starting in 2024

On Tuesday, Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen announced that the time of obligatory military service would be extended to twelve months, a tripling of its current duration of four months. Training will be intensified, and pay for the conscripts will be increased.
