As Western nations spend billions deploying Nazis against Russia’s alleged inhumane actions in Ukraine, Western hypocrisy is exposed with the case of their deliberately inhumane situation in Afghanistan.

Following the recent suspension of NGO activity and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, supposedly in response to a Taliban crackdown on women, the brutal winter Afghanistan has now become outrightly genocidal. Temperatures in Kabul have fallen to as low as −21° Celsius, (−6° F), with major snow and wind storms hitting parts of the country. Because of Western sanctions applied on Afghanistan, fuel is difficult to come by, and even more difficult to afford. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, there are now over 28 million Afghans, more than half the population, in some form of need, an increase even from last year. As one resident told Al Jazeera: “If we buy coal and wood, then we won’t be able to buy food.”

Al Jazeera illustrates the crisis with videos and interviews about citizens who are struggling to purchase fuel for heat this winter. Instead of expensive fuels (wood or coal) they are hunting for trash to burn indoors to keep their homes warm. The above individual says the heater “never gets hot enough because we can’t afford even a little wood. I usually use discarded plastics and papers, which doesn’t last a very long time,” said the mother of two. “This is the coldest winter of my life, and I don’t know how we will survive it without food or heat.”
