Hungary’s Orbán: Instead of Arms to Ukraine, West Should Pursue Talks

In an interview with Hungarian state radio yesterday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said Germany’s decision to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine was emblematic of the growing role that Western countries are playing in the war. Instead of arming Ukraine, the West should seek “a ceasefire and peace talks.” Earlier he had said he did not believe in Ukraine’s victory and that Ukraine “is gradually turning into an uncontrollable ruin.” His radio interview remarks were reported by AP. Orbán Ukraine with Afghanistan, calling it a “land without an owner.”
