Oregon Schools: Don’t Tell Parents the Gender Identity of Their Child

RT news reported today on a new document published by the Oregon Department of Education, titled, “Supporting Gender Expansive Students: Guidance for Schools.” The report and the Department are coming under attack from numerous sources around the United States.

The Oregon DoE website blathers, “In January of 2023, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) proudly published Supporting Gender Expansive Students: Guidance for Schools. This guidance is grounded in the recognition, respect, affirmation, friendship, joy, belonging, and safety every human deserves - including the students, staff, and families that make-up our school communities.”

It also states rules such as “all districts must offer students and new staff the ability to select from at least three sex/gender marker options (M, F, and X), as well as offer existing students and staff the ability to update their current records.”

“The school must accept a student’s declaration of their sex or gender. For students who request a change in sex/gender marker, districts should change a student’s sex/gender marker within … the school’s student information system (SIS). There is no need for the student to legally change or prove their sex/gender. Schools should inform the student of who will be able to view their sex/gender marker information, and should discuss with the student what options are available to preserve the student’s privacy and safety. (emphasis added)

As RT and other press (FoxNews, NewsMax) have reported, “If a student declares a new gender identity, the guide instructs school districts to immediately begin treating them in accordance with that identity, informing teachers of their new name and pronouns, and updating their name on school records.

And here’s the kicker as reported by RT:
