China Brings Global Security Initiative to the Munich Security Conference

A Global Times editorial reports on Wang Yi’s ongoing European visit, which is bringing him to France, Italy, Hungary, Russia, and the Munich Security Conference (MSC), to which no Russian officials have been invited this year. More than 40 countries will be represented at this year’s MSC.

The editorial stresses that China has something special to bring to the table: its Global Security Initiative, under which a “security concept that is common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable is a fundamental solution to solving” security concerns, including those in Europe.

“If Europe really wants to turn the MSC into an event that promotes peace and solve conflict, then they must pay real attention to the voices of the Chinese delegation and pragmatically conduct dialogue with the Chinese side.”
