Egyptian Foreign Minister Visits Moscow, Strengthens Relations

The visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to Moscow will no doubt create hysteria among the Washington war-mongers, who already expressed “concern” about Russia building Egypt’s first nuclear power plant.

In his comments to the press following their meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov remarked that trade between the two countries had grown considerably, increasing by 5.1% in 2022 over the year before. Given the difficulties of Egypt receiving grain from Ukraine, Russia also committed to increasing its grain supply to Egypt.

The two sides agreed to continue work on the nuclear plant and to build an industrial zone in Egypt. Al-Ahram also reported yesterday that Egypt signed an agreement with the Russian railway company Transmash to build a train maintenance facility in the Abu Zabal industrial area north of Cairo.
