European Parliament Member: U.S. Hit Nord Stream To Destroy German-Russian Economic Relations

Gunnar Beck, a Member of the European Parliament, added his voice to the discussion breaking out in Europe, on the dirty geopolitical scheme behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. He made his remarks in an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestia today: “The U.S. did not like the close economic relations between Germany and Russia.” He put the destruction of the pipelines in that context. “They are doing something or they could try to do something that could break these relations.” Washington was motivated by strategic reasons to close Russia’s energy and economic ties with Germany and most countries in Western and Eastern Europe.

Further, the curious non-investigation by Western countries is rather telling. For them, the most convenient explanation is that Russia itself destroyed the pipelines, even though almost no one actually believes this.
