House Democrats: Slash Defense Budget, Stop Military-Industrial Complex

Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Mark Pocan (D-WI), co-chairs of the Defense Spending Reduction Caucus, introduced the “People Over Pentagon Act,” designed to slash $100 billion from the defense budget and reallocate it to other programs. Lee said in a release, as reported by The Hill: “Year after year, this country pours billions into our already-astronomical defense budget without stopping to question whether the additional funding is actually making us safer.”
