Accusation of China Military Help to Russia Military Is Hype To Pressure China, U.S. Lawmaker Indicates

Interviewed on Meet the Press today, neither the Democrat nor the Republican leaders of the House Intelligence Committee could confirm the story, circulated by the Administration and Secretary Blinken’s club against China, that Beijing is supporting the Russian war effort in Ukraine. Democrat Jim Hines (D-CT), indicated that from what he could see from China’s statements, including their peace proposal, they are not presently prepared to assist Russia in conducting the war. Mike Turner (R-OH), the chair of the committee, mooted that the purpose of floating this story was to put pressure on the Chinese to “not” provide military assistance to Russia.
