German Workers Shut Down Public Transport in 'Warning Strike'

Hundreds of thousands of workers from two union confederations shut down much of the transportation system of Germany on March 27 in a one-day “warning strike for fair wages.” The strike hit the airports, and commuter and metropolitan rail systems in about half the German states, and all the longer-distance Deutsche Bahn rail lines.
