On March 9, an IRS agent visited the home of reporter Matt Taibbi, leaving a note demanding that he contact the IRS within four days.
Coverage in the Wall Street Journal reports that Taibbi’s 2018 and 2021 returns were rejected over issues of identity theft. But he had never heard anything about his 2018 return in the four years since its filing, and in any event, the question is not monetary — Taibbi is owed a refund.
