Trump Calls for Mass Protests If He Is Arrested

Awaiting an indictment from the New York Attorney General, former U.S. President Donald Trump today warned his supporters that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday, March 21 and called for mass protests in his defense. In a tweet to supporters, Trump wrote: “The Far Away Leading Republican Candidate and former President of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday next week. Protest, take our nation back!” Two hours later, a spokesman for Trump issued a statement clarifying that Trump did not have any direct knowledge of the timing of any arrest, but was “rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our justice system.”
