Alan Beattie, who is listed as a “Senior Trade Writer” for the Financial Times, wrote an article yesterday summarizing the biggest danger to the Establishment coming off Brazilian President Lula’s recent trip to China: “The west has too little to offer leaders like Lula; Chinese trade and investment in Brazil exerts a pull on the country’s geopolitical alignment.” Lula’s call for the United States and Europe to stop arming Ukraine was certainly annoying, he admitted, but “more concerning for Washington and Brussels should be that China is offering immediate help for Lula’s priority of reindustrializing Brazil.”
