In an expansion of its Saturday military exercises around Taiwan, the Chinese PLA conducted joint strike simulations on land targets on the island itself.

“Different from the first day, which honed seizing control of sea, air and information,” writes the Global Times, “the second day trained launching strikes on land targets.”

The publication further reports that this is the first public report by the PLA of an exercise that simulated attacks on “key targets on the island of Taiwan and in its surrounding waters.”
