Russia's FSB Names Ukrainian as Organizer of Assassination of Tatarsky

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has identified a second individual as active in the April 2 assassination of pro-Russia military blogger Maxim Fomin (aka, Vladlen Tatarsky). The FSB states that a Ukrainian citizen, Yury Denisov, delivered the bomb via an intermediary to Darya Trepova, the woman who handed the bomb, hidden inside a statuette, to Tatarsky. She was arrested on April 3 and is reported to be talking to the authorities.

According to the FSB, Denisov came to Moscow in February, made living arrangements close to Tatarsky, and tracked his habits and movements. The FSB provided video of Denisov leaving Russia on April 3 for Armenia, then Turkey, assumedly on his way back home to Ukraine, and also a photo of his Ukrainian driver’s license. They describe him as part of a “Ukrainian sabotage and terrorist group” and that he was deployed “on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.”
