Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone on Friday with Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to discuss their cooperation on oil policy, South West Asia regional crises, and the upcoming expansion of the BRICS grouping of nations. According to the Kremlin readout, the two leaders “expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination at OPEC Plus aimed at ensuring the global oil market stability” and that the “prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the BRICS were also considered.”

“The two leaders exchanged views on various aspects of the developments in the Middle East in the context of the efforts Russia and Saudi Arabia are participating in to resolve regional crises,” the statement reads.
