Senior German Social Democrat Sides with Macron on China/Taiwan Issue

Macron’s remarks on the necessity of a European policy acknowledging that the “Taiwan issue” is internal to China, independent from the U.S. view, have been supported by German Social Democrat Bundestag group leader Rolf Mützenich, who does not share other politicians’ criticism of the French President. “We must be careful not to become a party to a major conflict between the United States and the People’s Republic of China,” Mützenich said on “Morgenmagazin,” the morning show of Germany’s first national TV ARD.
