The Federal agency, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), in its April 11 monthly report, “Short-Term Energy Outlook” provides the dismal picture of U.S. electricity generation going down, prices going up, and the share of unreliable solar and wind rising.
U.S. electricity generation (in billions of kilowatt hours) is expected to drop in 2023 to 4,172.05 from 4,243.14 in 2022, and even if generation picks up in 2024, reaching the EIA expected 4,227.82 level, it still will be down from 2022.
