Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his visit to the central air force and air defense command post today, said that Belarus has put its armed forces on high alert following the recent shooting down of four Russian planes in Bryansk, a region bordering Ukraine. “Three days after the events next to us. I mean the events in the Bryansk Region, when four aircraft were downed. We had to react to that,” the President said, according to BelTA. “Since then, we, our forces, have been on elevated alert.”
Lukashenko said they are actively monitoring this situation as it develops, and are making plans accordingly “without fear-mongering.”
