China: Why Can't US Be Happy About Peace Between Saudis and Syrians?

Who would not be happy about peace breaking out between Saudi Arabia and Syria? As the Arab League convenes this week, welcoming Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin yesterday could not resist making some obvious points: “From whatever angle, Syria’s return to the Arab League is something to be happy about, except for a certain country.” He pointed out that US officials had “unabashedly criticized” Syria’s return and had pressured allies not to normalize relations with Syria. “In fact, it is because of the US pressure and sanctions that Syria has suffered 12 years of war with related catastrophic consequences lasting until now.”

The London/Washington attempt at religious warfare and regime change in Syria war has killed around 300,000 people and displaced more than 13 million.
