The Ostdeutsches Kuratorium von Verbänden (OKV), which had organized the Berlin conference of March 27, 2023, has now published a nice paperback book Dialogue Instead of Weapons with 38 speeches and contributions, including those of Helga Zepp-LaRouche, who participated in the conference in her capacity as chairwoman of Germany’s Civil Rights Movement Solidarity (BüSo).
About the book: “Upon the initiative of Joachim Bonatz and Rainer Rupp, peace-loving contemporaries gathered for a conference at the end of March, 2023. They shared the concerns of two former NVA officers [Nationale Volksarmee—the former East German armed forces], who had articulated those concerns in Open Letters. They had warned of the growing war danger and criticized media and politics for creating a dangerous sentiment, stoking hate and Russophobia. And they demanded an end of weapons deliveries to Ukraine, and immediate armistice negotiations.
“This appeal was taken up by the OKV, which invited scientists, military, artists and activists from different backgrounds, to exchange their views, with the aim to develop a non-partisan civil rights movement, which is devoted to one aim only: Peace in Ukraine and Peace with Russia!”
Joachim Bonatz is vice chairman of OKV. Rainer Rupp, according to the description, worked since 1968 for the East German foreign intelligence and was active from 1969-1993 in NATO headquarters in Brussels. [efi,dea]
