Peskov: Kiev's Assassination Policy Is Evidence of Underlying Problem

While the West may look the other way at Kiev’s announced policy of assassinations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, speaking on Rossiya 24 today, cited such lawlessness as terrorism, and evidence of the underlying problem that necessitated Russia’s February, 2022, “special military operation.”

Peskov was responding to Kiev’s Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) leaders’ stating that they have the right to assassinate Russian civilians anywhere, that they have carried out such assassinations, and that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is on their kill list. The first two pronouncements came from Kirill Budanov, the head of the GUR; the latter, from his assistant, deputy GUR head Vadim Skibitsky. Peskov commented: “A terrorist regime talks about its terrorist aspirations.”
