Russia will host the second Eurasian Economic Forum over May 24-25, which will discuss the way to implement, as the conference title says, “Eurasian Integration in a Multipolar World.” The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)—Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia; observer states, Cuba, Moldova, and Uzbekistan; and speakers from China, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Indonesia, as well as representatives of the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the International Organization for Migration will participate.
An exciting leading session, “EAEU-SCO-BRICS: Open Integration Dialogue,” will discuss ways to leave the dying trans-Atlantic financial system for something better. The leaders of the EAEU, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS will discuss reforming the global economic architecture, in an environment of “de-dollarization.” The Modern Diplomacy platform presents the powerful agenda of the session: “The session participants will discuss key areas of cooperation, the effects of implementation of a transport and logistics megaproject in Greater Eurasia for Eurasian Economic Union countries, prospects for monetary and financial cooperation, the transition to new forms of settlements for mutual trade between the countries of these integration associations in the current conditions, as well as the role of collaboration between the associations in stabilizing the general economic situation around the world.” Leading the session will be Mikhail Myasnikovich, chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission; Zhang Ming, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; and Anil Sooklal, sherpa of the Republic of South Africa, which holds this year’s presidency of the BRICS.
A second leading session, “Priorities for EAEU 2030+” will bring together Deputy Prime Ministers of the EAEU member countries and experts on ensuring the EAEU’s development goals. A major panelist at this session will be Sergei Glazyev, Minister in Charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Over the years, Glazyev has played a fundamental role in Eurasian integration with the EAEU, the SCO, and the BRICS, including working for a new way to settle trade and creating productive economic development.
