On May 4, 2023, a Twitter Space featuring First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, was hosted and organized by Shukri Abdirahman, a former Congressional candidate who ran against Ilhan Omar as a Republican in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. She was also joined by her co-host, Patrick Henningsen, a well-known geopolitical analyst, journalist, and talk show host. The space had over 700 people listening live, and was attended by many notable journalists and activists. Once Polyanskiy had finished speaking, the LaRouche movement’s Jose Vega was invited by Abdirahman to speak about the work he has done organizing and intervening against various congressman and media. Here is a transcript of the exchange between Vega and Polyanskiy:
Vega: The United States has a policy of lying. Like Tony Blinken, Condoleezza Rice, Samantha Power, and several members of the British and American military. We see this in the Nord Stream story. We also see this in Blinken‘s response to the events of the past 72 hours. I can only say that there are those that are promoting the idea of a new security and development architecture in the United States. They are independent candidates that are trying to stand up, and oppose the Ukraine war policy. There are young people like myself who are trying to stand up. I’m not necessarily asking you to comment, but I wanted that we let this be known, that we believe the freedom of thought demands that we start from the idea that mankind is good, but that we must face injustice, and talk about it in public, that the truth be known to the people, and that may be the only way to prevent thermonuclear war, even at this late date.
