UN Special Rapporteur Named To Investigate Human Rights in Russia

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has appointed Mariana Katzarova as the Special Rapporteur to report on alleged “human rights violations” against citizens in Russia. This decision was made as a part of the campaign to paint Russia as the “aggressor” in the conflict in Ukraine, particularly with regard to an internal crackdown which is going on as terrorist groups are being infiltrated into Russia as a “fifth column” in NATO’s war against Russia.

“I am committed to reporting on and assessing the situation in Russia and I recognize the critical importance of the UN human rights system in seeking to improve the protection of human rights in the country,” Katzarova said. “I hope the Russian government authorities will extend their cooperation to my mandate and allow me to visit the country. The viewpoints of all stakeholders are important for a thorough assessment of the human rights situation in Russia.”
