Zelenskyy Aide Podolyak Calls for a 100 Km. "Demilitarized Zone" in Russian Territory

In a Twitter post on Monday, Mykhailo Podolyak, the top adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that it was essential for Ukraine’s security that a 100 km. “demilitarized zone” deep in Russian territory be imposed, arguing that this is a “key topic” to bring about peace in the region.

Podolyak specified that it should be established in Russia’s Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Rostov Regions—effectively covering most of them, RT explained. “He referred to the regions as `republics,’ in an apparent nod to the idea of breaking Russia into dozens of lesser states, which has been a popular topic for discussion among top Ukrainian officials,” RT added.
