The government of the Netherlands wanted to purchase Leopard tanks from the Swiss state-owned manufacturer Ruag, the Dutch online media outlet NL Times reported on June 1, citing people familiar with the plans. The deal, however, required approval from Switzerland, which has so far maintained neutrality amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In an important development, for the moment, Switzerland will keep its neutrality: the Swiss National Council just voted up a law banning the re-sale of weapons.
